Our origins
We were born in Terres de l'Ebre
The friendly and welcoming character of the people of Terres de l’Ebre is in our DNA, as this is our homeland, a beautiful place where the Ebro River merges with the Mediterranean Sea.
A place that has captivated several civilizations and continues to do so to this day. Where the passage of different cultures has left an important legacy that can be seen in the personality of our people.
And from Tortosa, we have expanded our horizons, opening new hotels in the areas of Barcelona, Tarragona and Madrid. Always true to our origins and to the Mediterranean and urban lifestyle that characterises us and that you love so much.

Foundation of SB Hotels
It all began more than 30 years ago in a magical spot in Terres de l’Ebre. The Mediterranean paradise that gave us our origins. Our first opening was Aparthotel La Rápita.
Opening of Hotel SB Corona Tortosa
Our growth is organic. That’s why the company’s first hotel is located in the capital of the Baix Ebro: a millenary city on the banks of the Ebro River, where culture and nature can be found around every corner.
Opening of Hotel SB Ciutat Tarragona
Step by step. From Terres de l’Ebre to Tarragona. The natural growth leads us to enjoy this city that is indisputably attractive for its historical past.
Opening of Hotel SB Express Tarragona
We strengthen our presence in the province of Tarragona with this new hotel. This was the beginning of our range of 3-star hotels, which we called ‘Express’.
Opening of Hotel SB Icaria
We make the jump to Barcelona. In line with our orderly and sustainable growth, we decide to expand to the Catalan capital.
Opening of Hotel SB Diagonal Zero
Our passion for a job well done leads us to create an expansion plan within the province of Barcelona. Not rushing, but always working.
Opening of Hotel SB BCN Events
The Metropolitan Area of Barcelona is also an attractive area. Well-connected locations, as well as those close to the main trade fair venues become a pillar of our growth.
Opening of Hotel SB Plaza Europa
The MICE segment is one of our strengths. That’s why we built this hotel just a stone’s throw from the epicentre of Barcelona’s trade fair circuit: the Fira Gran Via.
Opening of Hotel SB Glow
The 22@ district is a highly attractive location for technology companies and start-ups. In addition, the Poble Nou neighbourhood is the new place to be. We didn’t need to think twice.
Renovation of 3 hotels: SB Icaria, SB BCN Events and SB Corona Tortosa
Not only do we build our own hotels, but we are also constantly updating them. Our commitment to quality is utmost.
Opening of Hotel SB Express Madrid Norte
We leave Catalonia and take our next step to Madrid. This acquisition is a testament to our desire to expand into large capitals.
Opening of Hotel SB Win
Convinced that Barcelona still has a lot to offer, we build our tenth hotel in the Barcelona enclave of Sant Feliu de Llobregat.
